The truth about greyhound racing
Bred to race. Discarded when they're not fast enough.
Greyhounds are gentle, sensitive, couch-loving dogs. In most of Australia they are still bred in their thousands to chase a lure around tight, sandy bends at up to 70km/h, for a gambling industry worth billions. Every week, dogs are injured. Every week, dogs die.

Racing has already ended in the ACT and New Zealand, and Tasmania has committed to ending it. The rest of Australia is still racing. Until that changes, volunteer-run rescues are the safety net.
Our promise, in numbers
Given to greyhound rescue so far
$10 from every Greyhound Rescue Necklace goes straight to the rescues getting greyhounds off the track and into homes.
Why this matters
In most of Australia, greyhounds are still being forced to race. They're bred in their thousands for a sport that keeps them kennelled, runs them at full speed around tight bends, and injures and kills dogs on the track.
The lucky ones are surrendered when they're no longer fast enough. Too many never get that chance. New Zealand ended greyhound racing in July 2026 and Tasmania has committed to ending it. The rest of Australia hasn't.
Until it does, it's volunteer-run rescues that pick up the pieces: fostering frightened ex-racers, paying their vet bills and teaching them how to be a dog for the first time. That's where your $10 goes.

Where rescue comes in
From the track to the sofa
Most retired racers have never lived in a house. They've never climbed stairs, seen a mirror or slept on something soft. Volunteer-run rescues take them in, pay for their care and teach them how to be a dog, until the right family comes along.
- 01Rescue
Greyhounds are taken in from racing kennels, pounds and private surrenders, often with nowhere else to go.
- 02Vet care
Every hound is desexed, vaccinated, flea and worm treated, and treated for any racing injuries.
- 03Foster
No kennels. Each dog lives with a volunteer family, learning house life one gentle step at a time.
- 04Forever home
Carefully matched adopters give them the soft, slow life every greyhound deserves.
